Four stages in three days were hard, but Adria Mobil Cycling cyclists showed great performance and they were in the very front throughout the race in Romania. They took two victories in four stages, plus two second places, 4th place in the overall standings and jersey for the points competition.
Sports director Branko Filip is of course excited about what the team did: “We had a smaller stage on the last day, as we had some issues with stomach illness, while Rajović didn’t start as he’ll get ready for the Tour of Hungary. Our goal for the day was to bring Kump in the good position for the sprint, and this is exactly what our riders did. There were some cyclists in the breakaway, but team Androni Giocattoli – Sidermec and us had the race under control. On the end Marko had to settle with second place, Czech cyclist Kaňkovský was faster today. I’m happy with the race outcome and the performance of the team.”
Par of the team will now travel to Hungary for the Tour of Hungary that starts on Tuesday with a short prologue. This is last test for Adria Mobil ahead of the upcoming Tour of Slovenia. We’re aiming at top stage results in Hungary.
