Katrašnik 9th in Istria, Rogina 14th on Rhodes

All cyclists of continental team Adria Mobil Cycling were racing today, some in Croatia, some in Greece. Best results go to Gašper Katrašnik and Radoslav Rogina.

Gašper Katrašnik 9th on Poreč Trophy
Croatian spring classic on the roads around Poreč finished somewhat surprising with the successful breakaway of four cyclists. Large group – including our cyclists – was fighting for fifth place in the sprint finish. Our first favorite Marko Kump backed down after a rider hit his rear wheel and broke couple of spokes, so Gašper Katrašnik attacked and took 9th place. Solid top-10 result is nice, but things could be even better with more decisive hunt for the breakaway riders.

Mountains stage on Rhodes
Five Adria Mobil riders on Rhodes were trying to defend yellow jersey today, but that proved to be not possible. Peloton fell apart on the hardest climb of the day, and Radoslav Rogina was the only one who could keep with the leading riders. He finished in 14th and is now also 14th overall.
Stage one winner Dušan Rajović lost the leaders jersey today, but there is one more stage and he’ll attack again for sure. Overall victory is out of reach, but it would be nice to round up the Greek tour with another great stage result.

Sports director Branko Filip: “I’m very satisfied with the performance of our cyclists in the first part of the season. We had great start, we ride aggressive and we aim hard on every race. Other teams are looking at us all the time and know how strong we are.”
