Boštjan Mervar took his and club’s name outside of borders – in 2004 he also raced on Giro d’Italia, at the time as a member of professional team Formaggi Pinzolo Fiave. After he draw a line under his successful racing career he joined the staff of his home club Adria Mobil. He worked as assistant Sport Director and coach from 2007 to 2013; in 2014 he took over the position of Sport Director and coach of the Adria’s elite team and won many races, including some of the big international events. Boštjan decided he’ll leave professional road cycling and face new business challenges, but he’ll stay in contact with the club and cyclists.
New Sport Director has become Srečko Glivar, another cycling expert with great & successful racing career in his past. Srečko stopped racing in 1995, but never left cycling. He was Sport Director for several different teams in Slovenia and abroad: Krka Telekom (today Adria Mobil Cycling; 1996-2002), Perutnina Ptuj (2003-2009), Loborika from Croatia (2010-2013) and Tirol Rad from Austria (2014-2016).
Since 2013 he’s been also working with his home club Adria Mobil as a coach for Under-15 cyclists and expert on other fields; he basically became indispensable member of the team. Now he’s the new Sport Director and is in charge of Adria Mobil’s elite team, he already spend first training camp with the riders and staff.
This is important and strategic change, but team principal Bogdan Find remains optimistic and has full of confidence in Mr. Glivar. He’s the right man for the job, and he’ll be able to recognize all the best in every individual of the team, and keep the team on the recognizable and winning path on the home and international roads.
